NAR Statement mitted to the Senate Banking Committee for TRIA Reauthorization Hearing

On June 18, the Senate Banking Committee held an informational hearing on reauthorizing the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program, for which NAR submitted a statement for the record in support of a long-term reauthorization without disruptions. There was bipartisan support at the hearing for reauthorization of the program, although Chairman Crapo from Idaho expressed that he would like to make reforms to reduce the federal government's exposure to losses. TRIA expires at the end of 2020 and so far no reauthorizing legislation has been introduced.
