NAR Support Letter to Senators Bennet and Cassidy Regarding Disaster Mitigation (SHELTER Act) Legislation

On May 25 NAR sent a letter to senators Bennet and Cassidy. The letter thanks the legislators for introducing the SHELTER Act. The legislation is designed to provide tax incentives, in the form of targeted tax credits, to individuals and businesses that proactively invest in strengthening their homes and business buildings against damages caused by natural disasters, such as floods, wind, rain, or fire, before they happen. Such proactive actions can not only prevent tremendous anxiety, disruption, evacuation, injury and even death, they can potentially save billions of public and private dollars.
